[ Yeah, in a lot of ways it's just very hypocritical. Something she kind of despises, but also puts a fair amount of effort into trying to avoid being a thing. It's just hard, for her, to separate the concept of something that someone feels is owed into something they can also want to do, even when it's something she's felt herself, because for years obligation was her life, both in what she did and how the people around her treated her and why she was helped. Because she'd saved them in the past, because she'd taken a fall where no one else would and they owed her a rescue, because they owed her time or the comfort an empath can provide or any number of things.

He puts up some resistance when she pushes him back down, but he has neither truly the will nor the leverage to put a whole lot into it, and he quickly winds up sinking back into the mattress with the press of her hand.

And then she's talking, and his face darkens a little more than just the narrowed eyes, because he doesn't appreciate the misdirection, even if he instantly knows why it was necessary. And he doesn't send her the safeword through the link, even though he would clearly like her to stop. This isn't what he wanted. Like, ever. He doesn't want her knowing about this inadequacy, doesn't want her thinking it's her fault or something that she needs to fix, because as far as he's concerned this is his own issue, his own thing to have to deal with.
