The zipper, the pressure: both make the slight switch from breathing through his nose to breathing through his mouth, falling open a little bit at first and then slightly more as she presses against him. The puff of air that might have come from that winds up getting tangled in a huff of irritation as she asks him the same thing he just answered, in his opinion. He's not fond of 'I don't know', but that doesn't mean it's not a legitimate answer. It's a pretty good one, actually, and she should be moderately proud to have pulled it from him.
